43CCC002 Ford Cortina MkII Crayford Convertible Ermine White/Green

Details
1:43 Scale model of a Ford Cortina MkII Crayford Convertible in White/Green. This model is made from die-cast metal and comes complete with a clear jewel display box.

The Ford Cortina MkII Crayford Convertible with the roof down emphasising the sleek lines of the original, which was the UK's bestselling car of the 1970s. Decorated in the Cortina's signature Lotus colour scheme of cream with the green stripe along the waist, it is registered KNM 613G from 1968.

There are special features on this two door model too. Apart from the black roof in the down position, the central console is geared for manual transmission and the design of the steering wheel is particular to this model. Even the wheel option is different with plain chrome centre hub caps. The interior features black seating and floor with remaining fixtures and fittings finished in black or silver.

Crayford Engineering was a car coachbuilder based in Kent and was formed in 1962 by engineer and designer Jeffrey Smith and sales expert David McMullan. The company specialised in taking desirable and usually prestige cars of the era and converting them from the original into estates and convertibles. The Cortina Mk II was one such car that Crayford introduced as a convertible but in very small numbers, so they are very collectable today.
